Ten years ago, to produce a pull-up display using paper prints mounted onto a block-out medium which was then laminated to protect the print, was a four-part process.

 

Today is it possible to print directly onto a block-out polyester film that will not curl and has a coating that protects the image from natural wear and tear in order to negate the need to laminate the finished pull-up banner; a single process that saves time and money through not having to buy in laminates and mount films. Most errors in production occur during the finishing process so not having to apply a laminate cuts out the majority of waste.

 

Backlit films for lightbox displays no longer need to be laminated to protect the image from moisture damage or wear and tear.

 

Point of sale banners and posters can be printed and hung in double quick time.

 

The range is from Kernow Coatings, a British company specialising in the development of coatings for polyester films using DuPont Mellonex film.

 

Polyester film is a highly stable medium with a very high melting point offering excellent tolerances for high precision imaging.

 

Films for use with solvent, eco-solvent and UV curable inks up to 60" ( 1.524m ) wide are all available from Planet Solutions UK Ltd.
